Matoi Souta is a salaryman who’s tired in both body and spirit. One day, on his way home from a grueling bout of work, he stumbles upon a koudan performance and decides to see it on a whim. One day, high school teacher Yoshitake finds a 60's era paper left in the school's old building. Written there are the names Yosuke Haruoki, writer of a short story, and Mikumo Sakagami, the short story's main character. Through an array of strange coincidences, Yoshitake and his colleague, Yahiro, begin to have the strangest hunch: that Haruoki and Sakagami were their past lives.

In high school, Toyoki Ashihara befriends Yu and Haru, identical twins who often switch places with each other as a joke. But, when Toyoki reveals that he can tell them both apart the twins stop. Overtime, the twins stop their gags and start cutting and dying their hair to make it easier to know who is who. Their friendship seems to go smoothly until it fades away when they graduate high school. Years later, Toyoki and Yu reunite at Haru's funeral...but is this really Haru's funeral?
